Captain America: The Winter Soldier ( Stills ♕ )
This is how to run a stick of Chapstick
down the black boxes on your scantron
so the grading machine skips the wrong
answers. This is how to honor roll. Hell,
this is how to National Honor Society.
This is being voted “Most Likely to Marry
for Money” or “Talks the Most, Says the
Least” for senior superlatives. This is
stepping around the kids having panic
attacks in the hallway. This is being the
kid having a panic attack in the hallway.
This is making the A with purple moons
stamped under both eyes. We had to try.
This is telling the ACT supervisor you have
ADHD to get extra time. Today, the average
high school student has the same anxiety
levels as the average 1950’s psychiatric
patient. We know the Pythagorean theorem
by heart, but short-circuit when asked
“How are you?” We don’t know. We don’t
know. That wasn’t on the study guide.
We usually know the answer, but rarely

ummm what thats not jealousy though???? its cersei being confident that jaime wouldn’t leave her because he’s too shallow to go for someone like brienne. and its one sentence in the entirety of the series. huge difference between cersei knowing that jaime rescued brienne and knowing that brienne is in love with him
From A Dance with Dragons.
"He took Raventree and accepted Lord Blackwood’s surrender," said her uncle, "but on the way back to Riverrun he left his tail and went off with a woman."
"A woman?" Cersei stared at him, uncomprehending. "What woman? Why? Where did they go?"
This shows that, just as Jaime gets rocked by the revelation that Cersei was unfateful to him, Cersei is worried about Jaime doing the same to her.
Hell, Cersei probably killed Melara for having desire for Jaime. From A Feast for Crows.
"Cersei had not had a friend she so enjoyed since Melara Hetherspoon, and Melara had turned out to be a greedy little schemer with ideas above her station. I should not think ill of her. She’s dead and drowned, and she taught me never to trust anyone but Jaime.”
Cersei being jealous is absolutely canon. Cersei is jealous of just about everyone that has something she can’t have.
Theon, you’re my blood. We both loved our mother. We both endured our father. Come home with me, don’t die here, alone. (…) You were a terrible baby. Do you know that? Balling all the time, never sleeping. And one night you just wouldn’t shut up, screaming like a dying pig. I walked over to your crib, I looked down at you. I wanted to strangle you. And you looked up at me and you stopped screaming. You smiled at me… Don’t die so far from the sea.
Telling the substitute teacher the wrong names: a classic. Telling the substitute teacher you are so old and born again every day, that ten thousand names could never define you, that you’re a shadowed mass swirling forth from jupiter, that your father is time and your mother is death, that you’ll swallow any scream of hers as you grow larger and ever larger: a super classic, king of the school, no homework ever.
I wanted to make a strong mother character. The portrayal of women in epic fantasy has been problematical for a long time. These books are largely written by men but women also read them in great, great numbers. And the women in fantasy tend to be very atypical women… They tend to be the woman warrior or the spunky princess who wouldn’t accept what her father lays down, and I have those archetypes in my books as well. However, with Catelyn there is something reset for the Eleanor of Aquitaine, the figure of the woman who accepted her role and functions with a narrow society and, nonetheless, achieves considerable influence and power and authority despite accepting the risks and limitations of this society. - GRRM on Catelyn Stark
